The Modern Slavery Act 2015 came into effect on 29th October 2015. This law requires manufacturers and retailers doing business in the UK, which supply goods or services and have an annual turnover exceeding £36 million, to disclose information regarding their policies to eradicate slavery and human trafficking from their supply chain and within their business.

M&S Hire, as part of its customer's supply chain, is committed to ensuring the business is free of slavery. The company acknowledges responsibility to comply with all principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will perform due diligence to provide transparency throughout the organisation. As the company turnover is under £36 million no annual statement is required.

M&S Hire Ltd maintains this policy; that strictly prohibits the use of slavery or human trafficking in its business. This policy permits the termination of employees found to be involved in any breach of the law including forced labour, slavery and human trafficking. M&S Hire ltd will continue to update its policies and procedures as required to ensure it maintains appropriate safeguards against any mistreatment of persons involved in its supply chain or own business.

M&S Hire Ltd is satisfied that there is no evidence of any act of modern day slavery or human trafficking within its own organisation.

M&S Hire will not knowingly support or deal with any businesses involved in slavery or human trafficking. Senior management will take responsibility for implementing this policy and its objectives, and will provide the necessary resources to ensure that its practices are effective in ensuring that modern day slavery is not taking place.
